Gaimukh is a beautiful place in Thane city near ghodbandar road . Chowpatty has been done here since some years ago And so Gaimukh is a famous place in Thane as Gaimukh Chowpatty. As you stand on the quayside you can see the bay stretching into the distance and the mountains stretching across the bay.
Gaimukh Chowpatty |
Previously there was a sand port here. Sand was exchanged by ships. A few years ago, a chowpatty was built there for tourists. It is a very peaceful place. The first floating hotel in Thane was opened in Gaimukh.
When you go inside the gate, you will see a small gate called "The C". From there is the entry of the floating hotel. Entry fees will be Rs.500-600 per person. There is a huge crowd of tourists here on Saturday Sunday.
And if you want to go boating, boating is also available at a short distance from Chowpatty. RS.200 per person and Rs.100 for child By paying such ticket you can enjoy 20 minutes of boating (Rates may be change). After boarding the boat, you will get a close view of the mountain across the bay. You will get to see the beautiful nature around the bay that stretches far away.
Shri Jagnath Mahadev Mandir Gaimukh |
Another place that attracts tourists in Gaimukh is the Shri Jagnath Mahadev Mandir. This temple is just in front of Chowpatty. A little high On one side there are steps and on the other side there is a road to take the car directly to the temple. There is a parking facility next to the temple. As you enter the temple, There is a grand marble stone staircase and a large temple right in front. As soon as you enter the temple, you will see Nandibail made of marble stones in front. bring And in front of him is the body of Mahadev. No one is allowed to go near Pind. Whatever bell flower, milk nail you have will be flown by the priests present there.
While walking around the temple, you will get a glimpse of Radhakrishna, Ganapati Bappa, etc. Adjacent to the temple is an idol in the shape of a cow's mouth. From there milk or water poured out from the cow's mouth. Many people drink it in their hands as an offering to God.
After exiting the temple there is a small ground and then the temple is fenced off. Standing on that side, you can see the bay and the mountains in the distance. It feels very peaceful and the view from there is amazing. And now half of the area is occupied by buildings
Earlier there was a complete forest area around the temple. Over time many settlements were built there
My Experience :
I could write this much about Gaimukh because it is my birth place. I have lived there for ten years. Every festival we used to go to the temple. All the peoples used to come together and celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm. If you look up from the back of the temple or from the parking lot, you will see a house. There used to be an ashram there. But a few days ago when we visited the Gaimukh Temple, the road leading to the ashram was closed.
Gaimukh has mountains on all sides. During the rainy season, the springs used to burst at many places and at one place a very big and high waterfall was formed. The mountain is still there but I haven't actually visited it in a long time. But this monsoon I will visit Gaimukh's waterfall. Very few people know about that waterfall.
